Dr. William C.Y. Lee, Mobility Advisor

With more than 35 years wireless experience and 27 US patents, with 11 more pending, Dr. William C.Y. Lee is regarded as a world-class scholar in wireless communications. Dr. Lee spent 15 years as one of the pioneers in developing the advanced wireless technology, AMPS, for Bell Labs. Subsequently, he joined the ITT Defense Communications Division where he headed the advanced mobile communications system.

In 1990, Dr. Lee invented and patented a new microcell system that increased radio capacity by 2.5 times over the conventional microcell system. As a leader in personal communications network (PCN) technology, Dr. Lee led the team that won the PCN license in the UK in 1989 for PacTel. In addition, he headed up the application of PacTel's PCS experimental trial in 1993. It was under his leadership that the first CDMA commercial system was completed in Los Angeles, CA in 1995. Dr. Lee went on to assist Qualcomm in the development of their CDMA technologies.

Dr. Lee formerly served as co-chairman of the CTIA ARTS Committee, which initiated the selection of the 2G Standard System for the United States. His previous positions also included Chief Scientist and Vice President of Vodafone Airtouch and Chairman of LinkAir Communications, Inc.

Dr. Lee has been elected as an IEEE Fellow and has served as a member of numerous councils, including the California State Council on Science and Technology, the US Council on Competitiveness and the FCC Technical Advisory Council. He has earned many prestigious awards, including the IEEE VTS Avant Garde Award, the C.T.I.A. Award, the CDMA Industry Achievement Award, the SATEC Award, a Bell Lab Service Award and, most recently, the IEEE Third Millennium Medal Award. Dr. Lee has published more than 200 articles and seven text books on wireless communications.

Dr. Allan Yang, China Advisor

Dr. Yang is regarded as the lead scholar on Call Detail Records (CDR), Telco Grade Compliance, Telephony billing systems and international voice recording compliance. Dr. Yang has over 30 years of experience and is currently the Chief Technical officer of EDI Systems Limited, where he was responsible for the development of VOIP and RFID systems, global GPS system development. Dr. Yang has been a Director for various telecom companies including, Harrow Telecom Limited, Cellular Instruments Limited as well as WOL Communications Limited. Over the years he was a co-founder of seven Joint Venture Companies providing technical support to specify and build paging, packet switching and cellular telephone services in China. Dr. Yang has been instrumental in aligning support from China Telecom and procuring the required licenses to do business in China, including obtaining support from the Ministry of Information and Industry (MII), the Ministry of Television and the Ministry of Tourism. He was also granted ISP, on-line advertising and gaming licenses from the MII.

Dr. Yang holds a Ph.D. in Computer Simulation from Salford University, U.K. He is a Member/Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers, the Institution of Electrical Engineers and of the British Computer Society.

Grieg Coppe, Corporate Strategy Advisor

Grieg Coppe has been a senior partner with Accenture for over 15 years. He is one of the firm’s leaders in the high tech strategy practice located in San Francisco. Mr. Coppe has worked with a broad spectrum of high tech companies, including component suppliers, computer and networking manufacturers, consumer electronics and software companies, to formulate corporate and business unit-level strategies.

Mr. Coppe is also one of the firm’s leading M&A and Post-Merger Integration experts. He has participated in some of the largest integration efforts within the high-tech industry. Additionally, Mr. Coppe has been very active in Accenture’s investments and acquisitions, serving as an advisor to several of Accenture’s New Venture acquisitions. He has served on the board of advisors for several Internet-based start-ups; and he has led consulting engagements for several e-commerce companies.

Over the years Mr. Coppe has held several executive management positions at Accenture, including serving on the firm’s Global Leadership Team; as Global Managing Partner, Business Consulting; and as Managing Partner, Corporate Development and Strategy.

Prior to joining Accenture, Mr. Coppe was with the management consulting firm of Mercer Management. Mr. Coppe graduated with Highest Honors with a B.S. in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and with an M.B.A from the Harvard Business School.

Brian Sheehan, Advertising & Marketing Advisor

Brian has just finished his 25th year with Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide. He joined what was then Dancer Fitzgerald & Sample (now Saatchi & Saatchi) in 1983 in New York.

He began his career on the General Mills account on such brands as Cheerios. Brian started working on the Toyota account in the mid 1980s

In 1988, Brian moved to Japan as Account Director on the Toyota business. While there, he worked on campaigns for Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.

In 1990, he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi Hong Kong as Group Account Director running a group of 15 accounts, comprising 70% of the agency’s business, including: Hilton Hotels, British Airways, IKEA, Guerlain cosmetics, TIME magazine, News Corporation, Toyota, and Hewlett-Packard.

In 1993, Brian was named CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Japan. Some of the agency’s key accounts were: Toyota, British Airways, Qantas, Bayer, Chrysler/Jeep, Kodak, Sara Lee, DuPont, Hewlett-Packard, and Corona beer.

In 1996, he was appointed CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia. The agency’s accounts included: Procter & Gamble, Toyota, David Jones, SHOWTIME, Castrol, and NRMA. In 1998, the agency was named “Agency of the Year” by AdNews.

In 1999, Brian was made Chairman and CEO of Team One Advertising in Los Angeles. Team One is a division of Saatchi & Saatchi. Team One’s largest account is Lexus, which they launched in 1989 and have established as the top-selling luxury automotive brand in the U.S. for the last eight years. During 2004, Team One was awarded the Ritz-Carlton business. In 2005, Team One became a P&G roster agency by being awarded the Millstone coffee business. In 2007, Team One won the Flexjet business.

In the fall of 2008, Brian will be leaving Team One and taking up his new position as Associate Professor of Advertising at the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. Brian will continue his relationship with Saatchi & Saatchi as a consultant.

Brian is married with two children (ages 13 and 11). He holds and MAT from Loyola Marymount University and a BA from the College of the Holy Cross. He plays golf, tennis and racquetball regularly.

Dr. Chris Chung, Device Integration Advisor

Dr. Chung began making a name for himself nearly 20 years ago, he was the former EVP, CTO and Chairman of TriGem Computer, Inc. He was also the inventor of eMachines. Dr. Chung will be working with the Company to integrate urSpin into the new $99 computer. In 2002 Dr. Chung founded Human Computer Inc. (HCI), which was responsible for the development of Korean computer typography and DTP (desktop publication software). The company went public on KOSDAQ (Korean NASDAQ). During his tenure at HCI, he also founded and served as chief technology officer for Digital Chosun Media Inc., a subsidiary of Chosun Daily, South Korea's largest daily newspaper. After two years he left to take over the domestic side of the business for Korea-based computer company TriGem. One of Mr. Chung's most impressive accomplishments was his invention of eMachines Inc. In just over a year, TriGem was building one million units a month for eMachines. Subsequently, eMachines went public on NASDAQ in 1999. From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Chung served as vice president for strategy development at SOTEC. SOTEC went public on JASDAQ in 2001. In 2002, Chung began computer company iCube Inc., where he currently serves as chairman of the board. In 2004, Chung returned to TriGem as vice chairman and chief technical officer and, in 2005, he founded Mondo Systems Inc. and focused his energies on the digital home products industry.

Dr. Chung earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the leading national graduate school in South Korea. Dr. Chung maintains residences in Korea and Northern California.

Mark Pierce, Corporate Operations Advisor

Mark Pierce is a former Partner with Pinnacle Rock Associates with over 22 years experience in business management and strategy and IT consulting. He has extensive experience in eCommerce, marketing, planning and distribution in Retail and Consumer Goods industries.

Before joining Pinnacle Rock, Mark held senior positions in both consulting and consumer packaged goods industries. Prior to Pinnacle Rock, Mark was Executive Vice President in charge of the western region for marchFIRST. In his position of Executive Vice President, Mark led the approximately 1000 employee organization in creating high performance, internet-based businesses and functional capabilities working with clients such as JC Penney, Williams-Sonoma, Adidas, 3Com, Compaq Computer and The SABRE Group. Prior to western region EVP, Mark was responsible for marchFIRST’s global management consulting practice.

As a Partner at Prophet Brand Strategy in San Francisco, Mark led Internet and brand strategy, global marketing and relationship marketing engagements for clients including Levi Strauss & Co., The SABRE Group, Discovery Channel and Williams-Sonoma.

Prior to Prophet, Mark spent three years with Accenture’s Strategic Services working with clients such as Nike, Starbucks, Levi’s and Cisco Systems.

Before consulting, Mark was a Group Operations Executive with Procter and Gamble. During his nearly ten years at P&G, Mark held line positions with increasing responsibility in operations, logistics, customer service and brand development.

Additionally, Mark is the founder of Archetype-Solutions, a software and services company providing mass-customization outsourcing for the apparel market.

Mark received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and an MBA from St. Mary’s College.
