John Hui, Founder & Chairman

Lap Shun (John) Hui has more than 20 years of experience in the technology, computer and computer-related businesses. Mr. Hui has built and sold a number of tech-related operations and continues to acquire, build and sell various organizations today.

Mr. Hui’s first major undertaking was as the 100% owner and operator of KDS USA. He acquired this company in 1995 and later sold this entity during 2002. KDS USA was a distributor of monitors, notebooks and related products. In 2001, it booked more than $400 million in annual revenues. At the same time as operating KDS USA, Mr. Hui was a principal founder of eMachines, Inc. during the mid 1990s. Mr. Hui recognized the strong potential for the sub-$1000 PC market in the US, and personally lent his credit and retail relationships on behalf of the start up company. The company went public on the NASDAQ exchange during March 2000. Mr. Hui participated as a founder and director of this company until December 2001, when he took the company private in a transaction valued at $152 million. Following this, Mr. Hui was key in further developing the company’s strategic and supply relationships. eMachines was successfully sold to Gateway, Inc. during February 2004 for cash and stock consideration in excess of $230 million. At that time, eMachines was tracking at more than $1.0 billion in revenues and run one of the most profitable, efficient PC organizations in the industry. Following this venture, during 2006, Mr. Hui acquired Packard Bell BV, a European computer distributor.

In addition to his background in the PC and related peripherals industries, Mr. Hui oversees various investments in the data storage, telecommunications and related areas. Mr. Hui is a US citizen and has lived in this country since 1973. He has BS and MBA degrees and is a certified internal auditor. He was a former Citicorp resident inspector (internal audit).

Jim Mitchell, CEO

Jim Mitchell brings with him 18 years of experience working with global market makers in the Media, High Tech, and Electronics industries. He has worked with leading brands clients such as Google, HP, Sun, DirecTV, Ingram Micro, Qualcomm, Toshiba, Intel and Nokia with a focus on increasing shareholder value by opening new channels, launching new products and businesses, improving supply chain and global operations and enhancing customer care. Mr. Mitchell has held a variety of operational leadership roles holding him accountable for global accounts, P&L and office management.

During his tenure with Accenture, (formerly Andersen Consulting) Mr. Mitchell was a co-founder of the Firm’s ecommerce practice and established Internet centers throughout the country to deliver Internet based solutions to leading edge companies and the Fortune 500. In 2000 he was admitted to Partnership at Accenture and was a Managing Partner for a portfolio of electronic and high tech companies in the Western and Southwest Regions, totaling over $100M in sales and revenue per year. As the Managing Partner at the Los Angeles office location he was responsible for overseeing 700 employees as well as the business operations of the office, including staffing plans, mentoring, motivating and retention.

Mr. Mitchell earned his B.A in Business & Computer Science from Purdue University. He holds 6 patents on ecommerce frameworks for doing business via the Internet.

Robb Fujioka, Founder & President

Mr. Fujioka brings more than 10 years experience in on-line advertising / marketing, branding and Public Relations. Mr. Fujioka has built and sold several advertising and marketing technologies businesses. He has worked with many of the pioneers of the e-marketing arena including Coremetrics, Cable and Wireless, Infonet, DoubleClick, 3D Shopping and BigFoot Interactive.

In 1998, Mr. Fujioka founded Jump Communications, an advertising and public relations firm that created e-campaigns and ad programs for Yonex, Toyota, Porsche, Toto USA, Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox. Jump Communications was one of the first interactive agencies in the web services space to incorporate rich-media email as a retention and direct marketing tool.

In 2001, Mr. Fujioka founded In-Coming, a direct e-mail marketing company that focused on innovative strategic direct e-mail campaigns and the development of IQ Mail. IQ Mail was a direct e-mail platform that could not only track delivery, open and send email but also monitor a user’s click stream within a company’s website. IQ mail pioneered the combination of e-mail and website analytics that included user e-commerce transactional reporting.

Mr. Fujioka also founded Go Anywhere in 2002 which won the rights to deploy city wide Wi-Fi for Hermosa Beach. Go Anywhere offered Wi-Fi broadband access through Wi-Fi mesh networks deployed on city owned light posts. Go Anywhere also negotiated pole rights with Verizon and AT&T which enabled them to deploy networks in the territories where the carriers are the key encumbents.

Steve Hui, Founder

Mr. Hui’s experience targets both engineering and business, U.S. centric and globally for more than 25 years. Beginning in 1972, he was with Schlumberger Corp. as a field engineer in several countries and with S&T Enterprises Ltd., in Hong Kong as their sales and marketing manager. Between 1975 and 1983, during and after his graduate school, Mr. Hui held various positions. He was with Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in network and data acquisition systems for linking the super computer centers in U.S. with the Linear Accelerator in Stanford University. In addition, while at At Amdahl Corp. in Sunnyvale, California, he was the designer of Amdahl’s bus system for their first MP (Multiprocessor) IBM compatible mainframe computer. At STC Computer Research Corp., he was one of the six members in computer architecture for the first CMOS mainframe computer (also an IBM mainframe compatible machine).

In late 1983, Mr. Hui founded Everex System Inc. in Mountain View, California. He took Everex public in 1987, growing it to over US $500 million in annual sales with over 1,500 employees worldwide. In 1999, he was advisor to the Henderson (China) Group in Hong Kong as well as the Principle Architect for One Trend.Net Inc. in 2000. In 2001, he became the President of the Telecommunications and Technology Group of Henderson (China). His responsibilities included oversight and management of 23000 Km of nationwide fiber optics backbone in China.

Following his tenure at Henderson, Mr. Hui founded Power All Networks, Ltd., a leading edge networking company that has broad and superior applications across the networking, storage, telecommunications, media and Internet areas.

Mr. Hui received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972, a masters of science in mechanical engineering in 1977 and a master of engineers in computer science and electrical engineering in 1979, both from the University of California at Berkeley.
